Fun Facts about Skin

Our skin is an incredibly lare and complex organ. The average square inch of skin holds 650 sweat glands, 20 blood vessels, 60,000 melanocytes (pigment skin cells), and more thatn a thousand nerve endings. It is only 2 millemeters thick!! Crazy! Our skin protects us from absourbing he suns's energy and converts it into vitamins while shielding us from UV radation. So it is important to know that the skin can absorb up to 60% of the substances applied to it's surface.
