Smokey Eye

Step by Step "Smokey Eye"

It’s sexy and smoldery! What’s not to like about it? Here are your step by step instructions:

Line your upper and lower lash line (right into the roots of the lashes) with a dark liner (black, dark brown or a dark plum) then smudge it with an angle brush (or q-tip) to soften the line

*If you have large eyes, line the inner rim (water wells) with black for an extra sultry look

Apply matching dark eye shadow from your lash line up to the crease, and sweep under the lower lash line to soften the pencil.

Now use a softer color in the same color family like a burgundy brown or eggplant and sweep into the crease.

Add another sweep of shimmery highlighter under the arch of your brow and to the inner corners by the tear duct.

Blend, Blend, Blend!! So the color graduates and does not stop and start but also so you have the darkest color at your lash line and it should graduate to the lightest color at the brow bone.

Apply mascara on the top and bottom lashes (I would recommend false eyelashes for this look)

Last but not least apply your favorite lip color and you have accomplished “The Smokey Eye”

Choosing the right undertone in your Foundation:
If you’re buying foundations in a drugstore and you can’t try it on your skin first, steer clear of the foundations that appear to be “pink” in the bottle. These colors will make your skin look unnaturally red and don’t look so great. The slightest hint of “Yellow” is what you will be looking for yellow counteracts the discoloration in your skin giving it a neutral overall natural color and making you look flawless and younger. But really I have foundations at a great price and I will color match you for FREE!!

Cancer Causeing Agents

1,4-Dioxane, this cancer-causing petrochemical has been found at high levels in dozens of babies’ and adults’ personal care products. In July 2007, laboratory tests revealed the presence of this petroleum-derived contaminate in popular baby products, including BEST SELLING baby baths!!

1,4-Dioxane is considered a probable human carcinogen by the U.S. EPA. Animal tests indisputably proven its tumor-promoting activity. It is also on California’s Safe Drinking Water and TOXIC Enforcement Act list of chemicals know or suspected by the state to cause cancer or birth defects.

This carcinogen forms during a procedure called ethoxylation, a cheap shortcut that companies use to provide “mildness” to harsh ingredients.

However you will never find 1,4-Dioxane in an ingredient list instead you will need to look for names that contain “eth” such as: sodium laureth sulphate, (PEG) polyethylene glycol, oleth, ,ceteareth-basically, any ingredient that has eth in its name most likely test positive for 1,4-Dioxane.

Read your labels!! Learn and educate yourself and be a healthy self!! I hope you find this as helpful and fascinating as I do! I will keep the info coming and will be adding some home “Green” recipes from to book soon.
